My Sister The Serial Killer - Oyinkan Braithwaite
My Sister The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite is my second read of 2020. (SPOILER-FREE REVIEW)

This thrilling little novel was a definite one-sitting type of read. The chapters are short and to the point and the plot is fast paced, all whilst not sparing all the detail we crave in a thriller.
This is a tale of family and secrecy. It leaves us with the bidding question, what would we do for the ones we love? or rather, how much would we lie for the ones we love?
I was reluctant to read this novel. I thought it would be cliché and have a predictable ending, but it defied all my negative expectations. It surprised me with not so typical relationships, the immensity of jealousy and the biggest kick; the ending.
This is a solid four-star out of five read.
The character armour is thorough and so well written, we really get to envision the types of people the main protagonist is dealt with. I adore the cultural exploration of the setting, it made the reading experience so encompassing and escapist.
But I'll mention again, nothing hit like the ending. The novel truly fell on its feet in the best way.
Overall, an impressive read to say the least.
